Founded in 1993, New Technologies and Associates, Inc. has been a strategy and consulting leader in diverse industries such as enterprise software development, oil and gas, manufacturing, legal, financial services and banking as well as government services. In addition, we have provided hands-on leadership and consulting to startup companies, individual entrepreneurs, and nonprofit organizations that seek to identify seed and series A funding options; navigate complex legal processes related to negotiating contracts and filing USPTO applications for patents, trademarks, copyrights and licensing; or develop collaborative relationships with global IT solution partners and software development firms as they build and enhance their product and service offerings.

Executive Team

Ralph A. Rodriguez (Chairman and Founder)


Ralph A. Rodriguez brings over 25 years of experience spanning management, IT, research and entrepreneurship in a variety of executive roles.

Rodriguez previously served as CEO and Chief Innovation Officer at Delfigo Security. Prior executive roles include SVP and Research Director at Aberdeen Group (NYSE:HHS), CTO of Brooks Automation’s Enterprise Software Division (NASDAQ:BRKS), which was acquired by Applied Materials in 2007, EVP-CIO of Excelon Corporation (NASDAQ:EXLN) and C-bridge Internet Solutions (NASDAQ:CBIS), both of which were acquired by Progress Software (NASDAQ:PRGS) in 2002.

Since 2000, Rodriguez has been a Fellow at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) where he has pioneered research on artificial intelligence (AI), cloud, mobile, neural science, and security technologies at the MIT Media Lab and Harvard-MIT Health Sciences and Technology (HST) department and holds a Sc.D. in information systems. Rodriguez is a graduate of the management program GPMD-MBA at IESE Business School, Barcelona, Spain. Rodriguez also completed several programs on technology management and research at MIT’s Sloan School of Management. He has a BS in Computer Science and Technology from the US Army Institute (SOCAD) and is an honors graduate of several technical, operational, and communications schools in the United States Army, where he was a member of the XVIII Airborne Corps. Rodriguez is a veteran of the Persian Gulf War in 1990.

Rodriguez sits on the Board of Directors at the Academy of Applied Science, The Telecom Expense Management Industry Association (TEMIA) and previously served on the Board of Veramark Technologies, Inc. (OTC:VERA). In 2005, he was inducted as a Member National (MN) at The Explorers Club in New York City for his field research in sonar technologies.

Cynthia D. Normand (Vice President - Finance)

Cindy brings more than 30 years of financial, business, entrepreneurial, and operational experience to Blue Hill Research and New Technologies and Associates, principally spent in consulting and technology. She was one of the early members of the management-consulting firm, Treacy & Company, led by MIT Sloan professor and co-author of the international best seller, “The Discipline of Market Leaders”, Dr. Michael E. Treacy. Through Cindy’s operational leadership, she helped build the firm into a world-class strategy consulting company. She held a variety of management roles to grow the company responsibly and profitably. In addition, she played a key role in the integration of the acquisition with Gen3 Partners, running business operations and leading the development of new offices. 

Previously, she worked at the top-tier management consulting firm Bain & Company. While there, she held dual roles in both recruiting and training. She played a strategic role in their recruiting of ivy league candidates, as well as coordinating worldwide and regional training programs for up to 200 participants and trainers throughout the world. Her critical eye for detail and logistics, was lauded as contributing factors of the training programs’ successes. 

She further honed her operational, financial, and entrepreneurial skills at the boutique start-up, Case Strategy, (founded by a former partner of Treacy & Company and Bain Alum). Cindy, as Chief Administrative and Operating Officer, was responsible for HR, operations, finance and budgeting, IT, facilities, and administrative support, as well as managing all corporate real estate holdings.  Cindy also coordinated and oversaw construction and renovations of the corporate office headquarters. In addition, she created and oversaw a state of the art benefits program and developed and implemented recruiting, training, and motivational programs for the firm. 

Cindy started her career in technology when she worked for Wang Labs, (pioneer of word processing systems in the 1970’s). At Wang, she was part of the SMART Team that researched and disseminated product info on the various product lines to the sales organization. She also installed Wang Office software throughout worldwide locations, trained administrators and end users in system operations and features, and worked closely with R&D on making software changes. 

She holds a BA degree from Northeastern University and was enrolled in Bentley College’s MBA program.
